Here at Mitchlehan Media we are trying out new ways to use Augmented Reality to help young kids stay engaged while learning.  Our follow up app to Animal Alphabet is going to center around Space.  We are starting with the Planets in this app but calling the app Space so that we can add future content down the road outside just our own Solar System.  As kids we were amazed and enthralled with the possibilities of what lies in space.  We think that having flash cards augmented with computer wizardry to help young children learn is exciting! We aren't stopping with Space.  We have three apps with different topics currently in development and we are excited to get them out there!  Here are a couple of pics from Space.

AR Flashcards 2.0 is now available for iPhone, iPad and Android Devices!! With this new version we are introducing 6 Animated Dinosaurs to the app. The new version also features our move to the Vuforia SDK for Augmented Reality by Qualcomm. This SDK features smarter recognition that allows for superior detection and tracking even when one of the cards are partially obscured. This means that you can move closer to an object without having to have the entire card in view. We've also completely redesigned the look of the app with all new graphics that support iPhone 5 and iPad Retina screens. We've moved the flash card galleries to the main screen so that it's easier to get to without having to load the AR Camera screen. We've also place a new Screenshot button on the AR Camera screen so that you can take photos of the animals with ease! The photos are saved to the camera roll on iOS and requires an SD card for Android. We already have new content in the work for future releases so stay tuned!

One of the many reasons that AR Flashcards V2 has taken us so long is not only have we rebuilt the app from the ground up but we are also making sure we can make it available for Android the same day that the iOS version is released.  The Android version has introduced some different challenges but we are confident that we will be done within the next week or two.  The Android version be compatible with over 1900 different Android devices and will be EXACTLY the same as its iOS counterpart.  We are very excited to be branching out to Android and giving more people the opportunity to use Augmented Reality as a learning tool.

AR Flashcards 2.0 finally moving at a brisk pace!  We have rebuilt the app using the Vuforia SDK. In this new version we will offer Dinosaurs as new content. 6 wonderfully a created Dino's that will jump off the brand new Flashcards. The Dino's have been animated and adds a whole new dimension to AR Flashcards! This new version will improve the tracking of objects so that even if the card isn't fully in view you will still see the animals!!  Version 2.0 should be available sometime this April!!

Dino's are about to invade AR Flashcards in the near future!  Every kid loves dinosaurs and we think a fun way to discover and learn the names of Dinosaurs are through augmented reality!  The Mitchlehan team is hard at work on a new content pack that will bring the Dino AR fun to your iPhone and iPad! This will be our first add-on to AR Flashcards and we hope to keep bringing new Flashcard packs to the app in the future!  We have so many amazing ideas and can't wait to get them out there!  We are shooting for a mid-summer release for our Dino Flashcard Pack!  Stay Tuned!
